From Burden's Landing
In Jeollado, South Korea. Infamous for the Gwangju Uprising in 1980, where 600 people were killed.
Dad lived here until he was five (during the Japanese occupation), because Grampa worked here.

Art Street. Artistic legacy from Uijae, famous 20th century painter and poet. Museum dedicate to him near Mudeungsan Park.
Kimchi Festival in late September / early October.
Gwangju Biennale runs from September through November every even-numbered year. This is South Korea’s premier exhibition for the arts, displaying works from Korea’s best artists, as well as contributions from artists from more than 50 other countries.
