In the winter, the canal freezes over, and people ice skate to work.
Jan 2007 - This winter, there has been no real solid freezing of the canal so good luck, or bring a snorkel! (Vote Green Party for skating in winter) hahaha
Transporation
From the Ottawa MacDonald-Cartier International Airport, you can take the Yow Airporter shuttle (613-260-2FLY). It cost C$14 from the Albert at Bay Suite Hotel to YOW (July 16, 2005).
