Possibilities
Probably better to focus on the triangle between Seoul, Sangju, and Ulleung-do (essentially Gyeongsangbuk-do):
- Mungyeong Saejae
- Sangju (persimmon)
- Andong (Gyeongsangbuk-do). Famous for mackerel, soju, wooden masks.
These are in the Southern-most region of Korea:
Other possibilities:
- Chuncheon (Gangwon-do)
- Buyeo (Chungcheongnam-do). There's the Baekje World Festival going on the first week we'll be there.
- Jeongseon (Gangwon-do)
Preparation
- October 3, 2010
- Called Verizon to activate Global Data Plan on October 12. Will cost about $30 (pro-rated fee) and will give unlimited data. I should be able to use Skype for calls and avoid the exorbitant international roaming fees. Need to call the day after I return (October 25) to de-activate.
